About us:
Research:
In the field of theoretical and applied research the Institute of Electrodynamics, Microwave and Circuit Engineering
(EMCE) is active in
- the numerical calculation of electromagnetic fields
- microwave engineering for information and communication technologies
- the design and realization of analog, mixed-signal and optoelectronic circuits
- THz sources, detectors and systems
In these fields three research groups are active:
- Circuit Design (Head: Univ.Prof. Dr. Horst Zimmermann)
- Microwave Engineering (Head: Assoc.Prof. Dr. Holger Arthaber)
- THz Electronics (Head: Univ.Prof. Michael Feiginov)
Teaching:
With respect to academic teaching the institute offers courses in
- the bachelor program in electrodynamics and circuit design
- the master programs a wide range of lectures and lab courses in circuit
design and microwave technologies in the fields of
- automation technology
- telecommunication
- computer technology
- microelectronics
- high-frequency and THz electronics
